Blues Juke Joint Weekend Terms and Conditions

All bookings for Blues Juke Joint Weekend (hereinafter designated as BJJW) are accepted on the basis of these Terms and Conditions.  By proceeding with the booking of this event you understand and agree to be bound to these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree to this document you will not be able to attend the Festival.

1. Payment terms

By registering for BJJW each attendee is expected to pay the adequate fee within one week (7 days) after receiving the confirmation e-mail with the information required to proceed with the payment or after being redirected to the Payment Page. If the payment is not done within this period the registration will be cancelled to make room for other participants. All bank transfer fees must be paid by the attendee.

2. Refund policy

We know that plans can change. Still, organizing a high-quality event takes preparation, commitment, and transparency from all sides.


Our cancellation policy is simple and non-negotiable. We offer a full refund within 15 days of payment. After 15 days, refunds are no longer available. However, you may transfer your pass to another person up to 10 days before the event. You must inform the organization of the new participant via email.
 

If you have purchased a ticket and can no longer attend, we accept the transfer of your ticket to another person with the same dance role (leader to leader / follower to follower). To transfer your ticket, we must receive a written request to bluesjukejoint.porto@gmail.com at least one week (7 days) before the event.
 

Please include the following information in your email:
- Your name
- The name of the person you are transferring the ticket to
- E-mail address of the person you are transferring the ticket to
- Dance role (are you registered as a follower or as a leader)

3. Injuries and thefts

BJJW organisers will not be held responsible for any physical injuries, or damages to / thefts of private property that might occur during BJJW.

4. Admission

BJJW organisers, staff, volunteers and attendees have the right to work and dance in a safe and non-threatening environment.  We reserve the right to refuse admission and/or contact with any person who displays verbal, physical and/or threatening behaviour towards our organisers, staff, volunteers and to other attendees. BJJW reserves the right to turn down registrations or refuse entry to any part of the event.

5. Code of conduct

All individuals attending BJJW have the right to enjoy dancing in a safe and enjoyable environment where appropriate social behaviour is expected. We reserve the right to ask any person who displays inappropriate behaviour towards our attendees to leave the event.

The BJJW attendees are bound to behave in accordance with the general rules of conduct and with the existing Portuguese laws. In case of transgression you will be in the jurisdiction of the Portuguese competent authorities.

6. Changes

BJJW organisers reserve the right to make any changes to the programme (events, time, location), venues and prices if necessary.  Please check regularly our website, and Facebook and Instagram pages for updates.

7. Filming and Photography

The BJJW will be documented with photographs and film footage.  The attendees agree that they can be photographed or filmed, and that these photographs and video footage can be used for BJJW promotional purposes.  Any recordings (film, digital media, photographs or video) remain the copyright/property of BJJW and may be used by them at any time and in any kind of media (radio, television, newspapers, magazines and the Internet).

8. Valid law and jurisdiction

The Porto Court (Tribunal de Comarca do Porto) is competent for all disputes between the BJJW attendees and BJJW organisers according to the Portuguese law.

11. Privacy Policy

11.1  WHAT PERSONAL DATA IS COLLECTED

Contact Data: E.g.: email address, telephone, mobile number

11.2 HOW LONG IS YOUR DATA RETAINED?

We will retain your Data for the maximum period required to comply with applicable legal, regulatory and contractual obligations, and it will be deleted, in accordance with the law, when the Data Subject requests its deletion.

11.3 CONSENT FOR THE COLLECTION AND USE OF PERSONAL DATA

BJJW will only use Personal Data when it is provided by its Data Subjects, solely for the purposes and in accordance with the purpose for which it was provided, and always based on the Data Subject’s free, specific, informed and explicit consent.

BJJW won’t share your Data with external parties.

11.4 WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE REGARDING YOUR DATA?

In accordance with the applicable regulations, the Data Subject has the right to:

  • Information and access: through which you may obtain information regarding the processing of your Data and receive a copy of it.

  • Rectification: whenever you consider that your Personal Data is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request its rectification accordingly.

  • Erasure: you may request the deletion of your Personal Data, to the extent legally permitted

  • Restriction: you may request the restriction of the processing of your Personal Data, to the extent legally permitted.

  • Objection: the Data Subject may object to the processing of their Personal Data, in particular when it is based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to their particular situation. The Data Subject may object at any time where the Data is processed for direct marketing purposes, including profiling related to such direct marketing.

  • Automated decisions: where applicable, the Data Subject has the right to obtain human intervention from the controller, express their point of view and contest automated decisions, including profiling

  • Withdraw consent: where you have given your consent to the processing of Personal Data, you may withdraw it at any time, to the extent legally permitted.

  • Portability: where legally permitted, you have the right to receive the Personal Data concerning you that you have provided to us or, where technically feasible, to have it transferred to another controller.
